Impedance and loudspeaker sensitivity measurements

If a loudspeakers sensitivity is measured as db's produced from applying 1watt at 1m at 8ohms, then how much voltage is supplied when measuring a 6ohm speaker for instance. 2.4v? or still 2.83 volts, which means the applied power is not 1w. I'm confused.

You can use either 2.4V or 2.83V, your choice.

Use 2.4V if you want to stick with 1W/1M.

Use 2.83V if you want to do the same as many speaker manufacturers have done and still do. It certainly makes lower Re drivers look better regarding SPL efficiency but doesn't apply 1W of input power.
